The Liebskind atrium staircase, BTW, is not safe, with it's fun but irregular and non-rectilinear design; and insufficient visual cues for orientation; and too many disorienting visual cues.

Great architects give us great form that is safe and functional. And it warrants noting: it was not the open process that made Liebskind's design so dysfunctional. He himself chose to push the envelope there. And did he ever succeed.

Re: Denver Art Museum unveils completed design for a new $11.5 million administrative building

thanks Todd

Re: Denver Art Museum unveils completed design for a new $11.5 million administrative building

Location is near 13th Avenue, not Street.

Re: Denver’s big art survey: Finally someone cares what you think

Thanks for calling attention to this survey!

Re: Denver’s big art survey: Finally someone cares what you think

Why on earth would you publish your responses alongside an invitation to take a survey? It would seem that you are inviting people to participate while giving them the "best advice" for how to respond to the questions. Why not just discuss the survey, make the invitation, provide the link, and leave it at that? I understand you're a critic--a professional at sharing your opinion--however it makes me irritated that your boldface font responses now potentially poison the well and it leads me to characterize arts and culture scenes (or at least critics) in yet another way: presumptuous. A good critic knows when his or her opinion shouldn't get out front of a potential conversation.

Re: Sequester squashes U.S. Army Chorus collaboration with the Colorado Symphony

Ed, sequestration isn't a problem for the White House or any other D.C.-based venues, because the chorus is based in D.C. and can still perform in its home area, as we say in the second grah.

Re: Sequester squashes U.S. Army Chorus collaboration with the Colorado Symphony

Yep, they may not happen elsewhere but they don't not happen there.

Re: Sequester squashes U.S. Army Chorus collaboration with the Colorado Symphony

"don't not"???

Re: Sequester squashes U.S. Army Chorus collaboration with the Colorado Symphony

Sequestration wouldn't be a problem if they were playing the White House. Please help me understand that one. And precisely how is this music "right for him (Litton)"? Dumb, dumb, dumb. You might want to live through a Mahler performance before you make comments like this post. It might give you an appreciation for difficult music and the effort it takes to play it. I heard the 6th performed in Denver many years ago and have not forgotten it to this day.

Re: The Colorado Symphony Orchestra, fired up, burns through Mahler’s life-or-death Symphony No. 6

It's a review of a performance.

Re: The Colorado Symphony Orchestra, fired up, burns through Mahler’s life-or-death Symphony No. 6

You're right, clown.
